Our long-standing client Osborne contracted Embassy Site Services on behalf of City West Homes for external building repairs and scaffolding works on five blocks of six storey flats in Westminster; Schomburg House, Jessel House, Edric House, Abady House and Bennett House.
Situated only moments from the Tate Gallery, the River Thames and the Houses of Parliament, the social housing residential blocks on Page Street required special consideration due to their central location.
Parking restrictions and pavement licenses in this area also meant we had to carefully consider how we would erect the scaffolding to ensure, not only the appropriate space for pedestrians walking past, but to also ensure we were able to safely offload materials and equipment without disruption. In this instance, because of the type of works that needed to be carried out, a gantry was required to extend the scaffolding further out. Working with the nominated Liaison Officer we were able to effectively obtain the relevant approvals to carry out the work without issue.
“Once again, due diligence was king. On this project the Central London location meant that we had a number of important logistics to overcome, including; planned parking permits and an extensive traffic management process, to name but a few.”
